The CFA Society of New York and Asset Owner Series hosted the third annual Climate and ESG Asset Owner Summit on the greater integration of ESG factors into investment strategies, investor-manager relationships and tools for long-term value creation.
The Summit’s opening keynote featured a conversation between Coalition for Inclusive Capitalism founder Lynn Forester de Rothschild and Hiro Mizuno, co-chair of the Pension Fund Coalition for Inclusive Capitalism and UN Special Envoy on Innovative Finance, formerly CIO of the Japan Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).
In addition to Pension Fund Coalition work in model ESG mandates and contract tools, the Summit discussed complementary work of the UN Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance (GISD) in sustainable development investing (SDI) and model mandates, as well as the role of asset owners and multilateral institutions in achieving net zero.
